\n\tThe buzz keeps building for \u201cThe Beekeeper 2<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPom Klementieff<\/a> (\u201cMission: Impossible,\u201d \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d) and pro wrestler-turned-actor Adam Copeland (\u201cPercy Jackson and the Olympians\u201d) are the latest to join the cast of the Jason Statham-starring<\/a> action thriller.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Beekeeper,\u201d about a former government assassin who comes out of retirement in a quest for vengeance, was a box office hit last year, grossing $162 million worldwide. Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi and Jemma Redgrave will also reprise their roles<\/a> in the sequel, distributed worldwide by Amazon MGM Studios and produced and financed by Miramax, with Yara Shahidi as a new addition<\/a> to the cast.<\/p>\n

\n\tPlot details about \u201cThe Beekeeper 2\u2033 \u2014 including Klementieff and Copeland\u2019s characters \u2014 are being kept under wraps, but the film is now in production. The sequel is directed by Timo Tjahjanto (\u201cNobody 2,\u201d \u201cThe Shadow Strays\u201d) and written by Kurt Wimmer, who penned the first film. (David Ayer directed the previous installment.) Producers include Statham via his Punch Palace Productions banner, Chris Long via Longshot Productions and Wimmer.<\/p>\n

\n\tKlementieff, who is best known for playing Mantis in Marvel\u2019s \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d films, recently starred opposite Tom Cruise in the last two \u201cMission: Impossible\u201d movies, \u201cDead Reckoning\u201d and \u201cFinal Reckoning.\u201d Outside of the MCU (including \u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d and \u201cThe Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special\u201d), Klementieff\u2019s film and TV credits also include Spike Lee\u2019s \u201cOldboy,\u201d \u201cIngrid Goes West,\u201d \u201cKiller\u2019s Game,\u201d \u201cNewness,\u201d \u201cThunderforce,\u201d HBO\u2019s \u201cWestworld,\u201d Netflix\u2019s \u201cBlack Mirror\u201d and the upcoming French thriller \u201cMi Amor,\u201d directed by Guillaume Nicloux.<\/p>\n

\n\tCopeland parlayed a successful 20-year pro wrestling career (where he was known by the ring name Edge) into acting. He most recently starred as Ares in the hit Disney+ series \u201cPercy Jackson and the Olympians.\u201d The performance earned him a nomination at the Children\u2019s and Family Emmys.<\/p>\n
