{"id":193182,"date":"2025-09-30T21:28:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T21:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/193182\/"},"modified":"2025-09-30T21:28:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T21:28:08","slug":"taylor-kitsch-talks-season-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/193182\/","title":{"rendered":"Taylor Kitsch Talks Season 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t[This story contains spoilers from the season finale of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/the-terminal-list\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-terminal-list_1\" data-tag=\"the-terminal-list\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Terminal List<\/a>: Dark Wolf, \u201cThe Wolf You Feed.\u201d]<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn the season finale of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/the-terminal-list-dark-wolf\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-terminal-list-dark-wolf_1\" data-tag=\"the-terminal-list-dark-wolf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Terminal List: Dark Wolf<\/a>, Jed Haverford (Robert Wisdom) was in the hotseat about the bloody messy operation\u00a0that went wrong in the penultimate episode, which left Iranian diplomats and soldiers\u00a0massacred in a private plane\u00a0on an air strip in Germany.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Iranians didn\u2019t, however, get to escape with the bearings that would help kick off their nuclear program because the show\u2019s protagonist,\u00a0Ben Edwards (played by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/taylor-kitsch\/\" id=\"auto-tag_taylor-kitsch_1\" data-tag=\"taylor-kitsch\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Taylor Kitsch<\/a>), and the surviving espionage members of Haverford\u2019s team found out that their leader had double-crossed them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWith the CIA ready to relieve Haverford of his duties for the mess he created, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/the-terminal-list-dark-wolf-tom-hopper-raife-interview-1236365023\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/the-terminal-list-dark-wolf-tom-hopper-raife-interview-1236365023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Raife Hastings (Tom Hopper) <\/a>sat in a meeting to tell the agency that Haverford was in cahoots with the Iranians and set up his own team members to take the blame and\/or be killed to cover up the misdeeds of the team\u2019s field leader.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMeanwhile, Edwards retreated to the Dark Forest in Germany with the actual nuclear bearings, and reached out to his Navy SEAL buddy, James Reece\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/chris-pratt\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chris-pratt_1\" data-tag=\"chris-pratt\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Pratt<\/a>), to share his mindset of how war bureaucrats have set up real soldiers to fail in their efforts to keep the free world safe. It is clear in a letter to Reece from Edwards that he has lost faith in the individuals who send young men and women to die for their country, either as soldiers or spies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThere was an inevitability to all of it,\u201d Edwards say in the narration of this letting to Reece.\u00a0\u201cWhile I wish I had the answers, sometimes there are none. We are not ones who matter. Sometimes all you can do is play your part. I\u2019m trying to make a difference. \u2026 War is part of the human condition, and you can only understand if you have lived it. Plain and fucking simple.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEdwards is on a suicide mission; Kitsch tells The Hollywood Reporter of the ending to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/terminal-list-dark-wolf-ben-edwards-taylor-kitsch-interview-1236355962\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/terminal-list-dark-wolf-ben-edwards-taylor-kitsch-interview-1236355962\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/prime-video\/\" id=\"auto-tag_prime-video_1\" data-tag=\"prime-video\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Prime Video<\/a>\u2018s prequel series and origin story to The Terminal List. \u201cI think that is the call when he calls Reece,\u201d Kitsch says about Edwards thinking he won\u2019t make it out of the fight with Iranian soldiers alive. \u201cHe thanks Reece for everything, and he is definitely going to take as many people out as he possibly can. It is a viable cause. I mean, he\u2019s not an idiot. He is going to fucking know that there is an army coming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHe continues, \u201cThere is a small scene where he is having a whiskey and a bag, and signing papers over to his wife, like clean cutting that divorce. I think he\u2019s retrospectively living out a few beats in his life before he knows it may be taken in the next day or two.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn an epic battle scene of one man\u00a0against hundreds of Iranian soldiers, Edwards fights to exhaustion with the booby-traps, bombs and multiple weapons he has laid out around the property of his country house until he has to retreat into woods where he has more surprises for the enemy soldiers. Edwards gets wounded a few times, but just when viewers think it may be the end for him, his Navy SEAL brothers \u2014 led by Reece \u2014 sweep in to quickly dispose of the Iranian soldiers closing in on Edwards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tReece and his men patch Edwards up and tell him he\u2019s now on his own. He should go home. Edwards gives the nuclear bearings to his SEAL brothers, but now the former soldier\/new black ops agent has revenge on his mind. Edwards and the surviving agents who were part of Haverford\u2019s team spread out to Istanbul, Tehran, and Virginia to avenge their fallen comrades. Edwards says those who failed him and the disloyal agents have to be held accountable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cIt is about Haverford,\u00a0but I also think overall it goes with that scene in episode one\u00a0with the CIA, where he wasn\u2019t being told about everything that was happening, and his men were in harm\u2019s way without knowing the full story,\u201d Kitsch explains.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/wp-content\/themes\/vip\/pmc-hollywoodreporter-2021\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/TMLP_S1_FG_106_00475602_Still731_3000.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"1495\" width=\"2999\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tTaylor Kitsch (Ben Edwards) in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPrime Video<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIronically, when Haverford walks into his home in Virginia\u00a0to find Edwards sitting inside waiting for him,\u00a0 he is somehow able to escape Edwards\u2019 punishment of death. Kitsch says there is a good reason why Haverford lives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s in the show,\u201d Kitsch says. \u201cHe says that Haverford is not going to be a star on the wall [at the CIA headquarters]. There is a scene where they show Haverford literally looking at the wall of the fallen \u2018unnamed agents]. I mean, what\u2019s worse? I think it\u2019s worse keeping him alive and making sure he doesn\u2019t get anything; letting him live in it, sit in it and dwell in it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHe continues, \u201cIt is also a turn for Ben. Violence has always been the answer up to that point. It\u2019s a conscious decision, and hopefully you notice a turn for the character. He is thinking through it. It\u2019s not just fucking walking in and shooting him in the head, and then walking out of the door. That is lazy writing, and that\u2019s what you are expecting. It was one of my favorite scenes in the series.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tKitsch, however, says not to expect a reunion or forgiveness between Edwards and his Navy SEAL\u00a0 brother Hastings\u00a0anytime soon. As played out in the penultimate episode, the two brothers-in-arms had a huge philosophical disagreement about art of war and what it means to be loyal to the cause.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cIn season one of The Terminal List, I have this line where Ben said something like \u2018he actually came through,\u2019\u201d Kitsch says. That\u2019s a long grudge that Ben holds. So I\u00a0think their relationship is pretty severed, especially the way we ended it on that boat. I can\u2019t see that coming back. Maybe we\u2019ll figure something else just to get Hopper back in, but I think that relationship, along with a lot of relationships, are been and done that. It\u2019s always been important to Edwards to be in the fight, especially when it\u2019s only four of them now. It\u2019s something so personal to Ben, and also to Raife.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWith <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/the-terminal-list-dark-wolf-franchise-future-tron-interview-1236355096\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/the-terminal-list-dark-wolf-franchise-future-tron-interview-1236355096\/\">Dark Wolf serving as a bridge story for seasons one and two of The Terminal List <\/a>(the latter is currently in production), Kitsch believes\u00a0Edwards has nowhere\u00a0to go but to spiral deeply down the rabbit hole of\u00a0loneliness and darkness in the spy world if they were to do a second season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe have a pretty good damn outline,\u201d Kitsch explains of what could come next in the expanding franchise. \u201cBecause Ben is so unpredictable, it\u2019s been a fun ride just figuring out the next steps. Without giving too much away, I think you are going to see him bottom out. There\u2019s a line on the boat [in episode six] where I say to Hopper that I\u2019d rather be brought home in a box than to be doing what you\u2019re doing right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBut the hardest part about filming the first season of Dark Wolf, Kitsch says, is that many of the characters\u00a0and relationships won\u2019t carry over. Instead, viewers will see Edwards go deeper into a world full of lies, intrigue and vengeance alone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cOne thing we\u2019re proud of is showing the darkness in service, and I think we are going to dive even more into that,\u201d he says. \u201cYou are going to see Ben be lonelier than he has ever been, and you are going to see him go into a world where there is no escape anymore, in more of a psychological way.
