A new statue of the late great singer Tina Turner has been branded \u201cso disrespectful\u201d after it was unveiled in the music icon\u2019s hometown.<\/p>\n
The 10-foot-high bronze statue, depicting the Queen of Rock \u2018n\u2019 Roll with a microphone and in her signature miniskirt and heels, was unveiled on Saturday in the rural town of Brownsville, Tennessee, around an hour\u2019s drive east of Memphis.<\/p>\n

It stands near a museum honoring Turner, who died in May 2023 at age 83 in Zurich, Switzerland.<\/p>\n
The sculpture aimed to capture the \u201cWhat\u2019s Love Got to Do With It?\u201d belter\u2019s flexibility and her iconic hairstyle, which Atlanta-based sculptor Fred Ajanogha compared to the \u201cmane of a lion.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
But the grand unveiling was quickly met with derision and anger, as many fans branded it an insult to Turner\u2019s memory.<\/p>\n
