During her recent appearance on \u201cThe Jamie Kern Lima Show,\u201d <\/a>Shepherd, 58, recalled that Barbara Walters made her first few years on the ABC daytime show a difficult experience emotionally. <\/p>\n \u201cI did cry for three years. I found my voice on that show. What I joke about, I say now my voice is deep because Barbara told me when your voice is deeper, it projects confidence. So that I joke about.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cSherri\u201d host continued, \u201cBut that woman there, she was hard on me. She was like, \u2018Read a book. Know why you\u2019re saying what you\u2019re saying. Be able to defend what you\u2019re saying. It\u2019s okay if you fall. I was a very fearful person,\u201d she said. \u201cI was not like that, I was very fearful, I was very shy. I didn\u2019t express my opinion. I learned it, I said it, but I was not this Sherri.
