How to listen to Swift\u2019s \u2018The Life of a Showgirl\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d will be available to stream on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.<\/p>\n
Fans can pre-save the album ahead of its release on Oct. 3. Pre-saving ensures the new music automatically appears in a fan\u2019s library the moment it is available. It is also a way for an artist to promote streams ahead of the drop date.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Spotify announced that Swift\u2019s album surpassed five million pre-saves on their platform to become the most pre-saved album in its history. The previous title holder? Her 2024 album \u201cThe Tortured Poets Department.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition to the many streaming options, there will also be a digital-download variant of \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d available via iTunes, featuring a new cover image and a nearly three-minute \u201cexclusive video from Taylor herself detailing inspirations behind the album\u201d labeled \u201cA Look Behind the Curtain.\u201d<\/p>\n
What physical variants are there?<\/p>\n
Target is once again a major partner with Swift. Their stores will carry three CD variants, titled as \u201cIt\u2019s Frightening,\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s Rapturous\u201d and \u201cIt\u2019s Beautiful\u201d editions. There is also an exclusive vinyl release, \u201cThe Crowd Is Your King\u201d edition in \u201csummertime spritz pink shimmer vinyl.\u201d Many Target locations will remain open past midnight on the day of release for superfans to pick up in real time.<\/p>\n
There are a number of other vinyl variants as well: \u201cThe Tiny Bubble in Champagne Collection,\u201d which features two vinyl variants described as \u201cunder bright lights pearlescent vinyl\u201d and \u201cred lipstick & lace transparent vinyl.\u201d<\/p>\n
There is also \u201cThe Baby That\u2019s Show Business Collection,\u201d in two colorways: \u201clovely bouquet golden vinyl\u201d and \u201clakeside beach blue sparkle vinyl.\u201d<\/p>\n
Then there\u2019s \u201cThe Shiny Bug Collection\u201d in \u201cviolet shimmer marbled vinyl\u201d and \u201cwintergreen and onyx marbled vinyl.\u201d<\/p>\n
And of course, there is the standard LP and cassette, in \u201csweat and vanilla perfume Portofino orange vinyl.\u201d<\/p>\n

What do we know about the album so far?<\/p>\n
Swift partially announced her 12-track new album \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d on the \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast hosted by Travis Kelce \u2014 Swift\u2019s fiance and Kansas City Chiefs tight end \u2014 and his brother, Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles center.<\/p>\n
In the full episode, Swift revealed she worked on the album in Sweden while she was on the \u201cEras Tour\u201d \u2014 flying between dates to record, truly embodying the album\u2019s title, \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl.\u201d The entire album was completed with producers Max Martin and Shellback, who Swift previously collaborated with on 2012\u2019s \u201cRed,\u201d 2014\u2019s \u201c1989\u201d and 2017\u2019s \u201cReputation.\u201d Her frequent producing partner Jack Antonoff was not mentioned.<\/p>\n
She described the release as full of \u201cbangers.\u201d \u201cI care about this record more than I can even overstate,\u201d she said, agreeing with Travis Kelce when he described the release as \u201ca lot more upbeat\u201d than 2024\u2019s \u201cThe Tortured Poets Department.\u201d<\/p>\n
