{"id":196161,"date":"2025-10-02T02:28:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T02:28:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/196161\/"},"modified":"2025-10-02T02:28:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T02:28:09","slug":"u-s-military-planes-wont-fly-at-air-show-due-to-government-shutdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/196161\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. military planes won&#8217;t fly at air show due to government shutdown"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The United States Air Force Thunderbirds have become a fan-favorite tradition at the <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/pacificairshowusa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pacific Airshow<\/a>, typically rumbling through the sky in Huntington Beach in mid-afternoon on show weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Things will be different this year.<\/p>\n<p>No U.S. military aircraft will participate in this weekend\u2019s Pacific Airshow due to the <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2025-10-01\/la-me-shutdown-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">federal government shutdown<\/a>, show director Kevin Elliott reported in an email update to fans on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile this is certainly disappointing news, we are excited to share that Pacific Airshow Huntington Beach will continue as scheduled this Friday through Sunday with an outstanding lineup of world-class domestic and international performances,\u201d Elliott wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The F-35 Lightning II, F-22 Raptor and A-10 Thunderbolt are among the other military planes that now won\u2019t be included this year. <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s show will still feature the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the Royal Air Force Falcons from the United Kingdom and other international planes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFans can look forward to full days of thrilling performances, exciting activations, and the one-of-a-kind camaraderie and beach party atmosphere that Pacific Airshow is known for,\u201d Elliott wrote in the email.<\/p>\n<p>The event, billed as the largest air show in the country by attendance, has been a bit snake-bitten recently.
