(Photo by Julio Aguilar\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Early did get some late-season action with the Boston, posting an impressive 2.33 ERA while racking up 29 strikeouts in 19.1 innings of work over four starts. He most notably fanned 11 batters in his MLB debut, winning 6-0 over the Athletics on Sept. 9.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Thursday night\u2019s showdown in the Bronx marks Early\u2019s fifth Major League start and, without a doubt, the biggest moment of his young career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s 1-1 now, so it comes down to this game, and I\u2019m super excited to get out there,\u201d Early told reporters after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boston25news.com\/news\/local\/yankees-edge-rival-red-sox-4-3-send-al-wild-card-series-decisive-game-3\/SVBHGLKEXZGEZBCYXAAVKIXW6I\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Red Sox fell to the Yankees;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Red Sox fell to the Yankees<\/a>, 4-3, in Game 2. \u201cIt\u2019s electric. Every pitch matters&#8230;So, I\u2019m just going to go out there and do my thing. I\u2019m super fortunate to be in this spot, and I\u2019m really happy with the Red Sox trusting me as well out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The rival Yankees will counter with the Bay State\u2019s own Cam Schlittler, who grew up a fan of the Red Sox.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Schlitter, 24, was born in Walpole and is a graduate of Walpole High School. He is also a product of Northeastern University and the son of Needham Police Chief John Schlittler.<\/p>\n<p>Since he joined the Yankees, Schlitter admits his family has traded in their Red Sox gear for pinstripes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI take pride in being from Boston.
