The coming season for the Twins will be about \u201cassessing\u201d what President Derek Falvey built over the last nine seasons, \u201cno matter which person the Twins bring in as their next manager,\u201d according to Bobby Nightengale of the MINNESOTA STAR TRIBUNE. External expectations on the team \u201ccertainly will be lower,\u201d but there was a \u201clot that went poorly\u201d during a 2025 season in which the Twins expected to contend for a division title. It cost manager Rocco Baldelli his job Monday<\/a>, and now there will be a \u201cspotlight on the organization\u2019s priorities.\u201d Twins owner Joe Pohlad<\/a> \u201cbacked Falvey\u201d after the team collapsed in the final six weeks of the 2024 season. Pohlad named Falvey as the successor to Dave St. Peter as the team president overseeing the business operations. It is a \u201crare setup — the head of both the on-field and off-field sides of the organization — and it gives Falvey about as much power as any executive across the league.\u201d St. Peter is still around as an adviser, but Falvey \u201cexpects to continue in the dual president role\u201d after the Pohlad family announced it was no longer selling the team.
