The City of Long Beach will educate the public on artificial intelligence (AI), digital skills and online safety through a series of free community workshops in October.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The sessions, organized by the City\u2019s Department of Technology and Innovation (TID), coincide with Digital Inclusion Week and aim to help residents navigate the burgeoning world of AI while protecting their personal information.<\/p>\n

During the workshops, participants will watch demonstrations and complete activities that will help them better understand and navigate generative AI. The workshops will also cover everyday tips for cybersecurity and data privacy.<\/p>\n

Workshops are scheduled at multiple locations across the city:<\/p>\n

Wednesday, Oct. 8, 6 to 7:30 p.m. \u2013 Doris Topsy-Elvord Community Center at Houghton Park, 6301 Myrtle Ave.
\nMonday, Oct. 13, 6 to 7:30 p.m. \u2013 El Dorado Park West Community Center, 2800 N. Studebaker Road
\nWednesday, Oct. 15, 6 to 7:30 p.m. \u2013 Silverado Park Community Center, 1545 W. 31st St.
\nMonday, Oct. 20, noon to 1:30 p.m. \u2013 Long Beach Senior Center, 1150 E. Fourth St.
\nWednesday, Oct. 22, 3 to 4:30 p.m. \u2013 Billie Jean King Main Library, 200 W. Broadway<\/p>\n

Each session lasts 90 minutes and will cover the same learning material.<\/p>\n

Light refreshments will be provided. Residents are encouraged to register ahead of time at lbcity.info\/aiprivacy<\/a>. Interpretation services in Spanish, Khmer, and Tagalog are available upon request.<\/p>\n
