President Donald Trump once urged Brooke Mueller\u2019s parents to intervene in her marriage to Charlie Sheen<\/a> \u2014 a warning the actor now believes they should have taken seriously.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a trip. I didn\u2019t know Trump was in the [Netflix] doc,\u201d Sheen told Fox News Digital. \u201cI saw it and I called the director. I was like, \u2018That\u2019s the coolest thing ever.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Whoa!\u2019 And newsflash \u2013 they should have heeded his advice.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the new Netflix documentary<\/a>, \u201caka Charlie Sheen,\u201d several people objected to the idea of the couple tying the knot, including Trump. In a clip featured in the docuseries, Trump, 79, recalled during a 2011 sit-down with ABC that he encouraged Mueller\u2019s parents to step in.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrooke is from\u00a0Palm Beach, and I told the parents, \u2018Don\u2019t let your daughter marry him. I think he\u2019s wonderful, but he\u2019s a disaster. Don\u2019t let your daughter marry him,\u2019\u201d said Trump.<\/p>\n

Sheen met Mueller shortly after the end of his relationship with ex-wife Denise Richards in 2006, and they became engaged nearly a year later.<\/p>\n

Charlie Sheen\u2019s\u00a0friends and family<\/a> were less than excited when they heard he was engaged.<\/p>\n

Sheen\u2019s former\u00a0\u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d\u00a0co-star, Jon Cryer, remembered not being able to attend the wedding due to a movie shoot, but his wife went to support the couple.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife called me afterward and said, \u2018Oh my God. I have concerns,’\u201d Cryer recalled. \u201cShe said, \u2018OK, I just want to tell you the toast that\u00a0Martin Sheen\u00a0made at the wedding,\u2019 and then I braced myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe apparently stood up, said, \u2018I hope you two know what you\u2019re doing,\u2019 and sat back down. That was the entirety of Martin Sheen\u2019s toast at Charlie Sheen\u2019s wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n

The union proved to be tumultuous. In 2009, the\u00a0couple welcomed twins Bob and Max, who were born six weeks prematurely and required a prolonged hospital stay. Sheen explained that juggling their round-the-clock care and his work on a popular TV show only facilitated a \u201cton of resentment\u201d toward the show for not giving him time off to take care of his family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember the night that nine years of no crack came to a tumbling, spectacular close,\u201d he recalled in the film. \u201cShe\u2019s in the bathroom with this girl and I can hear them doing blow and I start banging on the door, and I said, \u2018If you\u2019re going to do this s\u2014 in my house, you need to stop wasting it, and you need to do it properly. Let me show you how to cook this s\u2014 \u00a0up.\u2019 And it was on.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Sheen was arrested on Christmas Day in 2009 for allegedly threatening to kill Mueller, in addition to holding a knife against her throat.\u00a0Their divorce was finalized in 2011.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the arrest, she recanted her account of the incident, and Sheen\u2019s charges were dropped.<\/p>\n

Mueller later agreed that they \u201cwent hard, fast\u201d due to their shared addiction struggles.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I didn\u2019t recant my story, then he could have gotten into a lot of trouble,\u201d Mueller said. \u201cNot only was he my husband, but I was so incredibly screwed up on serious drugs for a very long time. I can\u2019t sit there and say I know for a fact this happened and this is how it happened or anything like that because of the mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheen admitted, \u201cI have my part in it, sure. F\u2014 yeah, and I\u2019ve made amends with Brooke about it, over and over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump wasn\u2019t the only political figure who made an appearance in Sheen\u2019s love life. In his new memoir,\u00a0\u201cThe Book of Sheen,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0the actor, 60, wrote that\u00a0former President Bill Clinton\u00a0once tried to make a move on his girlfriend Dolly Fox in the 1980s. He said Alan Ruck, his 1986 \u201cFerris Bueller\u2019s Day Off\u201d co-star, told him Clinton had shown interest in the actress.<\/p>\n

\u201cI tried to tell rehab patients that story while watching the Lewinsky saga. No one believed me,\u201d Sheen told Fox News Digital. \u201cI was like, \u2018Fine, I\u2019ll just put it in a book one day.\u2019 And I did. \u2026 There aren\u2019t too many guys who can say two presidents overlapped with their love life. So, I will take that. I will wrap my arms around it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is awesome,\u201d he continued. \u201cThank you for pointing that out. Two presidents that overlap [my] love life. \u2026 I\u2019ve always had them separate from one another just because of the distance of time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The incident with Clinton allegedly occurred during the filming of \u201cThree for the Road\u201d in 1987, when the\u00a0cast visited the Arkansas governor\u2019s mansion.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was answering a reporter\u2019s questions when Ruck overheard Clinton whisper to one of his aides: \u2018Find out what you can about the brunette.\u2019 The brunette was Dolly, and to this day Alan swears it was an exact quote,\u201d Sheen claimed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt bad for Dolly to be objectified and skeeved-out like that, but still had to take some pride in \u2018Bubba\u2019 fancying my gal,\u201d the \u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d star wrote of the alleged interaction.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAlan gave Dolly the rundown in the bar later on that same night,\u201d he continued. \u201cTo her credit, she laughed and was actually flattered.\u201d<\/p>\n

Today, Fox said she\u2019s standing by Sheen\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were in Arkansas, 1987, shooting a movie. \u2026 We did go to the governor\u2019s mansion,\u201d she told Fox News Digital. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t creepy. Clinton was never creepy. \u2026 He did not do anything wrong to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI shook his hand, said, \u2018Hello . . . How are you?\u2019 I wasn\u2019t looking at the governor. I was in love with Charlie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheen reflected differently in his memoir, writing: \u201cClearly the behavior that transformed a harmless intern a few years later into a household name had been in play long before her blue dress became famous. It was quite the moment in time to be ringside for that slice of creepy history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital reached out to Clinton and Ruck\u2019s representatives for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Clinton has been married to former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee\u00a0Hillary Clinton,\u00a077, since 1975. The couple shares daughter Chelsea Clinton, 45. \u00a0<\/p>\n

In the mid-1990s, Clinton, then president, had an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. After the relationship came to light in 1998, Clinton initially denied it. Later, under oath and with physical evidence including Lewinsky\u2019s infamous blue dress,\u00a0he admitted to an \u201cinappropriate relationship.\u201d\u00a0The scandal led to his impeachment on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. He was acquitted by the Senate and finished his term.<\/p>\n

\u201cYears later in rehab, while watching the Lewinsky hearings play out, I shared the Clinton\u2013Dolly story with my fellow \u2018habbers,\u2019\u201d Sheen wrote. \u201cI was still pretty faded on detox meds, and no one believed me.
