\n\tAs Taylor Swift<\/a> launches her showgirl era, she\u2019s paying tribute to another great musician also known for pushing boundaries in his career.<\/p>\n

\n\tGeorge Michael<\/a>\u2018s estate recently teased Swift\u2019s update of the late artist\u2019s 1987 hit \u2018Father Figure\u2019 as \u201csuch a special moment,\u201d appearing on the 14x Grammy-winning artist\u2019s upcoming 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl<\/a>, which debuts Friday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe were delighted when Taylor Swift and her team approached us earlier this year about incorporating an interpolation of George Michael\u2019s classic song \u2018Father Figure\u2019 into a brand new song of the same title to be featured on her forthcoming album,\u201d George Michael Entertainment shared in a statement<\/a> on Facebook.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn August, Swift announced The Life of a Showgirl<\/a> as her next album. Deadline later exclusively reported that AMC<\/a> had secured an Oct. 3-5 release<\/a> for the album\u2019s accompanying film of the same name.<\/p>\n
