The pact provides for development of robust algorithms and applications, in order to achieve orders of magnitude improvement in size, weight, and power, for deploying robust artificial intelligence and machine-learning capabilities in an embedded computing environment for ground, air, and space domains. That\u2019s according to a Sept. 26 contract announcement from the U.S. Department of War (formerly called the Department of Defense).<\/p>\n
Work will be performed at SRC\u2019s facility in Cicero and is expected to be completed by Nov. 26, 2028. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition, and two bids were received. Fiscal 2024 and fiscal 2025 research, development, test, and evaluation funds of $203,460 are being obligated at the time of award, per the contract announcement. The Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome is the contracting authority.<\/p>\n
SRC is a not-for-profit research and development company that says it combines information, science, technology, and ingenuity to solve problems in the areas of defense, environment, and intelligence.
