{"id":20000,"date":"2025-07-18T22:17:07","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T22:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/20000\/"},"modified":"2025-07-18T22:17:07","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T22:17:07","slug":"under-cispe-pressure-microsoft-opens-the-door-to-fairer-cloud-competition-in-europe-computerworld","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/20000\/","title":{"rendered":"Under CISPE pressure, Microsoft opens the door to fairer cloud competition in Europe \u2013 Computerworld"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In March 2023, the company agreed to change its cloud licensing practices to avoid an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.computerworld.com\/article\/1621691\/microsoft-offers-to-change-cloud-licensing-practices-to-avoid-eu-antitrust-probe-says-report.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">EU antitrust probe<\/a>, and in July 2024, Microsoft and CISPE reached a settlement that required the company to pay \u20ac20 million ($21.7 million) and develop a new product, Azure Local.<\/p>\n<p>Azure Local would have allowed members to run Microsoft software on their platforms at prices equal to Microsoft\u2019s.
