Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> and Stephen Colbert<\/a> joined forces Tuesday to roast Donald Trump<\/a>, coining a new, less-than-flattering nickname for the president during a rare, late-night show crossover event.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles-based Kimmel has brought his live show to Brooklyn, New York, for the week, which he opened Tuesday by calling the \u201cshow the FCC doesn\u2019t want you to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also on Tuesday, a pre-taped interview with Kimmel aired on Colbert\u2019s The Late Show<\/a>. It was his first sit-down interview since Jimmy Kimmel Live! was suspended — then reinstated — by ABC<\/a> over on-air comments related to the killing of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk<\/a> last month. <\/p>\n

\u201cI am so honored to be here with my fellow no-talent, late-night loser,\u201d Kimmel joked, referring to the flurry of insults that Trump has hurled at both him and Colbert. <\/p>\n

After Kimmel acknowledged the outpouring of support he received when his show was taken off-air, Colbert asked if he ever thought an American president would be \u201ccelebrating\u201d his unemployment, prompting loud booing from the audience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, that son of a b*tch, you know?\u201d Kimmel joked. <\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Son of a B*tch,\u201d Colbert added. <\/p>\n

\u201cHis royal \u2013\u201d Kimmel quipped. <\/p>\n

\u201cYes,\u201d Colbert said, nodding. <\/p>\n

Kimmel continued: \u201cNo, I never thought we would have a president like this, and I hope we don\u2019t have another president like this. I never even imagined there would be a situation in which the president of our country was celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs, somebody who took pleasure in that.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat, to me, is the absolute opposite of what a leader of this country is supposed to be,\u201d he added, to cheers and applause from the audience. <\/p>\n

Kimmel got into hot water last month after accusing MAGA Republicans of using the assassination of Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative activist, to \u201cscore political points.\u201d <\/p>\n

During Kimmel\u2019s live show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music Tuesday, Seth Meyers made an appearance, along with his brother, the actor and comedian Josh Meyers, who parodied California Governor Gavin Newsom.<\/p>\n

Trump has publicly celebrated Kimmel\u2019s temporary suspension, and the impending cancellation of Colbert\u2019s show by CBS. The Independent previously reported that CBS staffers<\/a> aren\u2019t buying the network\u2019s claims that the cancellation of Colbert\u2019s show<\/a> was purely a \u201cfinancial decision,\u201d but rather a continuation of the \u201cTrump shakedown\u201d that began with parent company Paramount\u2019s settlement<\/a> of the 60 Minutes lawsuit, according to multiple sources.<\/p>\n

Trump has also praised ABC\u2019s decision to put Jimmy Kimmel Live! on hiatus, writing on Truth Social at the time: \u201cGreat News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that\u2019s possible,\u201d Trump wrote. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJ,\u201d the president added. <\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s celebrations were short lived, and he went on to criticize ABC when the network announced it would resume airing Kimmel\u2019s show. <\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back,\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social<\/a>. \u201cThe White House was told by ABC that his Show was cancelled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his \u2018talent\u2019 was never there.\u201d<\/p>\n

A long list of political figures and celebrities, including former President Barack Obama<\/a> \u2014 condemned Kimmel\u2019s suspension as an attack on free speech. More than 400 Hollywood figures signed an open letter against his suspension<\/a> while protests were held outside of Kimmel\u2019s Hollywood studio.<\/a><\/p>\n
