Google\u2019s Pixel 10 is following in the footsteps of its predecessors in being a buggy mess at launch. It\u2019s not been that long since these phones hit the shelves, but we\u2019ve already documented a number of bugs and issues<\/a> that users have been experiencing. And it seems like that\u2019s not stopping anytime soon.<\/p>\n

Apart from the major \u201cscreen snow\u201d issue that we first highlighted earlier this month<\/a>, users are now reporting yet another problem where the content on the screen gets stuck, making it seem like the device is frozen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The lockscreen freeze appears to be hitting quite a few Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL owners, with some users dealing with it multiple times daily. One frustrated user on Reddit mentioned<\/a> their device froze five times in a single day, and that number climbed to seven after they posted about it.<\/p>\n

What makes this bug weird is that the phone isn\u2019t actually frozen in the traditional sense. The lockscreen just gets stuck with the time stopped, but the device keeps responding to touches underneath. The OP on Reddit accidentally deleted a folder from their home screen while staring at what looked like a frozen lockscreen. The phone vibrates when you try to unlock it with the fingerprint sensor, but nothing else happens on screen.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s even a megathread<\/a> on Google\u2019s support forums highlighting the problem where the screen keeps freezing. That post currently has 58 votes from others who also claim to have the same problem.<\/p>\n

Getting out of this mess requires a forced reboot using the power and volume up buttons, which gets old real fast when you\u2019re doing it five to ten times a day. Some users initially thought MagSafe (PixelSnap) accessories might be the culprit, but others without any magnetic accessories are running into the same headaches. One person even tried ditching their MagSafe-compatible case, and while that seemed to help temporarily, the issue clearly affects users across different setups.<\/p>\n

Google\u2019s official support account showed up in one thread with the usual \u201creach out to our support team\u201d response<\/a>, but that hasn\u2019t been particularly helpful.<\/p>\n

Users who contacted support got told to run the phone in safe mode for 24 hours, which isn\u2019t exactly a practical solution when you need your device working normally.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll have to wait and see if and when Google rolls out an update to fix the bug.
