Ty Gibbs, finally in a position to have to face questions about the competition meeting at Joe Gibbs Racing following the incident with Denny Hamlin at New Hampshire<\/a>, did not offer much beyond what his teammates have already said about the matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I\u2019m sure all the other guys answered it for you, so, I\u2019ll just leave it at that,\u201d Gibbs said on Saturday before qualifying at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval. \u201cIt\u2019s been good. We\u2019re making progress on the 54 (car) and I\u2019m excited about the race. There are some changes at the track with the tire barrier and I\u2019m focused on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I think they answered it,\u201d Gibbs said. \u201cYeah, for sure, always rooting for (Joe Gibbs Racing) to win a championship and I think I can help as well. We\u2019ll see what I can do; hammer down and go try to win races.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gibbs did concede having a one-on-one conversation with Hamlin. Then came a question about this just being a byproduct of young hungry drivers versus veterans, all within the same roof.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think you\u2019re going to have getting wrecked,\u201d Gibbs said. \u201cThat isn\u2019t ideal, but its racing, and it happens sometimes. We\u2019re racing professional motorsports and cars and sometimes they\u2019re hard to control at times.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just keep going from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gibbs did say \u2018we have probably figured it out,\u2019 and that he grew up, literally as the grandson of the organization\u2019s namesake and founder, \u2018and I want the best for my team.\u2019<\/p>\n
