\n\tRefresh for latest\u2026: Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s One Battle After Another<\/a> had a fantastic hold in the sophomore session, dropping only 22% at the international box office<\/a>. The Warner Bros title added $21.7M in 77 overseas markets this weekend to lift the international running cume to $58.9M with global passing the century mark to reach\u00a0$101.7M\u00a0through Sunday.<\/p>\n

\n\tNotable holds were in such markets as New Zealand (+7%), Germany (+5%), Chile (+2%), Denmark (+1%), Italy (-4%), Poland (-5%), Holland (-7%), Colombia (-13%), Belgium (-17%), UK (-19%), Mexico (-20%), Australia (-22%), France (-24%), Spain (-25%) and Brazil (-29%).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThat\u2019s the power of word of mouth.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn Europe, the Leonardo DiCaprio-starrer was the No. 1 film for the region for the 2nd\u00a0weekend in a row with an outstanding -19% hold. Turkey debuted this weekend at No. 1. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tFor Latin America, the film had just a 23% drop; OBAA is already PTA\u2019s biggest film in 13 markets in the region.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe IMAX running cume for overseas is now $5.4M.<\/p>\n

\n\tUp ahead, China will be the last market to open, on October 17.<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl<\/a> is forecast\u00a0at $13M for the weekend in 54 offshore markets.\u00a0This puts the estimated weekend global box office at $46M.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe event \u201cnon-film\u201d is only playing this weekend. It\u2019s released by AMC Theatres Distribution in partnership with Variance Films in the U.S. & Canada, and in partnership with Piece of Magic Entertainment internationally. We are hopeful for more clarity on overseas numbers tomorrow.<\/p>\n

\n\tTurning back to studio releases, New Line\/Warner Bros\u2019 The Conjuring: Last Rites added an estimated\u00a0$9.3M\u00a0this weekend in 76 markets. The international running cume is now\u00a0$290.4M\u00a0and the global total is\u00a0$458.2M\u00a0through Sunday.<\/p>\n

\n\tMoving up to the No. 6 spot globally for 2025 so far, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle<\/a> has now grossed $633M. Per Sony, that includes Japan and select other Asian markets. For Crunchyroll\/Sony markets it equates to\u00a0$324.6M. The latter added\u00a0$10.2M\u00a0this weekend, including\u00a0$6.7M\u00a0overseas from 62 offshore hubs.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Top 5 CR\/Sony markets to date are: Mexico ($17.4M), Germany ($14.4M), France ($14.2M), India ($9.3M) and UK ($8.9M).<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd, in anticipation of James Cameron\u2019s next Na\u2019vi movie, Disney re-released Avatar: The Way of Water to $6.8M overseas and $10M global. Avatar: Fire and Ash goes in December and there was a sneak peek on the current limited engagement for the latest title.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis additional release overseas makes Avatar: The Way of Water\u00a0the second highest grossing film of all time in Australia, behind only Avatar, and surpasses Star Wars: The Force Awakens.<\/p>\n

\n\tAdditionally, in New Zealand, Avatar: The Way of Water\u00a0is the first film to ever cross NZ$ 20M.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe re-issue was No. 1 in Thailand (non-local), Indonesia (non-local), Vietnam (non-local), Bulgaria and Romania.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Top 5 for the return to Pandora are: France ($800K), Germany ($500K), China ($400K), Mexico ($400K) and UK ($400K).<\/p>\n
