The Group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/opec-poised-raise-oil-output-further-sources-say-2025-10-05\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">increased<\/a> output targets by more than 2.7 million barrels per day (mmbbl\/d) this year.<\/p>\n<p>In a virtual meeting held on October 5, the group cited a steady global economic outlook and healthy inventory levels as reasons for the adjustment. The November decision maintains the same modest monthly increase of 137,000 bbl\/d that was <a href=\"https:\/\/egyptoil-gas.com\/news\/opec-raises-oil-production-by-137000-bbl-d-in-october\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">implemented<\/a> in October.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, amid economic uncertainties and price volatility, the eight key members introduced additional voluntary cuts totalling 1.65 mmbbl\/d in April and 2.2 mmbbl\/d in November to support market stability. The current strategy continues this gradual adjustment approach based on evolving market conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The adjustment provides an opportunity for member countries to accelerate compensation efforts for past overproduction.
