California Gov. Gavin Newsom\u2019s official press office X account has trolled MAGA\u2019s reaction to news that Bad Bunny will headline<\/a> the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show by sharing a throwback picture of Vice President JD Vance.<\/p>\n

The Puerto Rican singer was announced as the halftime act Sunday,<\/a> which has upset MAGA in part because the artist has previously dressed in drag.<\/p>\n

Lately, Newsom\u2019s team has taken to mercilessly mocking the Trump administration <\/a>on the governor\u2019s official press office account.<\/p>\n

The governor\u2019s team couldn\u2019t resist the latest opportunity to mock the MAGA movement.<\/p>\n

\u201cIm bOyCoTtInG ThE SuPeR BoWl bEcAuSe bAd bUnNy dReSsEd iN DrAg,\u201d the official account posted late Monday<\/a>, with a picture appearing to show Vance wearing a blonde wig and eyeliner.<\/p>\n

Gavin Newsom\u2019s official press office X account has trolled MAGA\u2019s reaction to news that Bad Bunny will headline the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show by sharing a throwback picture of Vice President JD Vance (@GovPressOffice\/@mattxiv\/X)<\/p>\n

It has been viewed over 1 million times and liked by more than 70,000 people.<\/p>\n

The image first<\/a> circulated during the 2024 presidential election campaign, reportedly taken while Vance was a student at Yale.<\/p>\n

A source close to Vance last year told The Independent: \u201cJD put on a bad wig at a party in college \u2013 not exactly scandalous.\u201d<\/p>\n

When contacted for comment at the time, Vance\u2019s spokesperson didn\u2019t deny the photo was of the then-Ohio senator.<\/p>\n

The Independent has contacted the White House for comment.<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, also invoked the wrath of MAGA after revealing recently that he decided not to include the U.S. in his 2025-2026 tour over fears that Immigration, Customs and Enforcement agents<\/a> \u201ccould be outside\u201d his concert venues.<\/p>\n

Newsom\u2019s account also trolled MAGA\u2019s Benny Johnson, who branded Bad Bunny a \u201cmassive Trump hater,\u201d an \u201canti-ICE activist.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBenny calm down, we all know you listen to Bad Bunny lol,\u201d the account quipped Monday, with the sassy nail polish emoji.<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny, one of the world\u2019s most-streamed artists, dressed in drag in the music video on his 2020 single Yo Perreo Sola, which translates to I Twerk Alone.<\/p>\n

The artist told Rolling Stone<\/a> he did it to \u201cshow support to those who need it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI may not be gay, but I\u2019m a human who cares,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n

Conservatives are fuming that the Puerto Rican native will headline the halftime show and shared images from the 2020 music video on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is who @nfl and @AppleMusic choose to represent them at @SuperBowl halftime,\u201d an X account called \u201cMAGA truth warrior\u201d reacted. \u201cA cross dressing, Drag Show, Satanic, Anti-American dude?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a national disgrace,\u201d said another MAGA account. \u201cThis person hates America, is a Drag Queen & has NO English songs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey use any opportunity they can get to indoctrinate children!!!\u201d raged another.<\/p>\n

Another MAGA account with over 50,000 followers called for a boycott of the NFL. \u201cI know we love our football. But sometimes we have to take a stand,\u201d the account posted. \u201cFirst the kneeling. Then the \u2018trans\u2019 and male cheerleaders. And now Bad Bunny, a demonic drag show for the halftime entertainment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans of the rapper, meanwhile, were celebrating.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow if bad bunny performs yo perreo sola in full drag the maga crowd\u2019s heads will explode simultaneously lol,\u201d someone said.<\/p>\n
