Congratulations!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The video was sent to Trump by McIlroy as a bit of \u201cbanter\u201d, with the Masters champion <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.sports.yahoo.com\/news\/rory-mcilroy-trolled-trump-over-084038156.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:replying to a text from the US president;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">replying to a text from the US president <\/a>following Europe\u2019s win.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s presence at Bethpage Black had raised the atmosphere on Friday, which then turned nasty towards the Europeans on Saturday and Sunday as many players, including McIlroy, were <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.sports.yahoo.com\/news\/rory-mcilroy-hails-wife-erica-234257646.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:subjected to heckling and personal insults;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">subjected to heckling and personal insults<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>McIlroy hit out against the behaviour of some fans following Europe\u2019s victory on Sunday, with the Northern Irishman saying that the \u201cunacceptable\u201d abuse had gone too far after his wife Erica Stoll had a beer thrown towards her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a rough week for all of us,\u201d McIlroy said. \u201cBut at the same time, we shut them up by our performance and how we played.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI chirped back a few times because it got to me a few times.
