The cast of Every Year After, the television adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel\u00a0Every Summer After<\/a>\u00a0has been announced.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Set over six years and one emotionally charged weekend, the dual-timeline\u00a0Every Summer After<\/a>\u00a0follows\u00a0Percy and Sam, two childhood friends whose close bond was shattered by a fateful moment that forced them apart \u2014 and the complicated love story that unfolds when they’re reunited years later at a funeral. The book is set in Ontario cottage country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Amazon Prime Video series will feature British actor Sadie Soverall as Percy and American actor Matt Cornett as Sam, Fortune said in a newsletter to fans.<\/p>\n

Soverall is best known for her role as Annabel in the movie Saltburn. She has also appeared as Beatrix in Fate: The Winx Saga\u00a0and Maisy in Little Bone Lodge.<\/p>\n

Cornett\u00a0was in High School Musical:\u00a0The Musical: The Series\u00a0as EJ and most recently,\u00a0Summer of 69\u00a0as Max.<\/p>\n

“I was absolutely blown away by their chemistry reads and their auditions,” Fortune said in the newsletter. “I held my breath, I swooned, I cried. You are going to fall in love with them \u2014 I promise.”<\/p>\n

Fortune\u00a0is a Toronto-based writer and journalist who has worked as an editor for Refinery29, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine and Toronto Life. Her books are One Golden Summer<\/a>,\u00a0Every Summer After<\/a>,\u00a0This Summer Will Be Different<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Meet Me at the Lake<\/a>, which\u00a0was the first romance book on\u00a0Canada Reads<\/a>,\u00a0championed by Mirian Njoh<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Other cast members announced were\u00a0American actors\u00a0Aurora Perrineau\u00a0as\u00a0Chantal,\u00a0Abigail Cowen\u00a0as Delilah and Michael Bradway\u00a0as Charlie. Canadian actor Joseph Chiu will play\u00a0Jordie.<\/p>\n
