{"id":210547,"date":"2025-10-09T01:56:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T01:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/210547\/"},"modified":"2025-10-09T01:56:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-09T01:56:07","slug":"rico-dowdle-chuba-hubbard-unconcerned-about-snap-counts-carries-credit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/210547\/","title":{"rendered":"Rico Dowdle, Chuba Hubbard unconcerned about snap counts, carries, credit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chuba Hubbard is the Panthers\u2019 starting running back, but his backup, Rico Dowdle, is the NFC offensive player of the week after 234 yards from scrimmage on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>No one was happier for Dowdle than Hubbard, who called Dowdle\u2019s award a foregone conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoach [Dave Canales] brought it up in the team meeting, and I mean <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.panthers.com\/news\/chuba-hubbard-celebrates-rico-dowdle-while-neither-worries-about-snap-counts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">we all kind of figured<\/a>,\u201d Hubbard said, via the team website. \u201cI mean if they didn\u2019t give it to him, that\u2019s bullshit, to be honest. He definitely deserved it and more, so just happy to see him get his flowers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hubbard\u2019s calf injury opened the door for Dowdle to do what he did against the Dolphins, and Hubbard did not practice again on Wednesday. It would give Dowdle a start against his former team, the Cowboys, and he has already warned them to \u201cbuckle up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dowdle, though, is not worried about losing playing time and carries to Hubbard once Hubbard returns. He shrugged at a question about returning to a backup role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly thing I can control is coming in here and put my best foot forward each day,\u201d Dowdle said. \u201cAnd, like I said, two is better than one; we know for sure we\u2019ve got two guys that can go out there and do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hubbard has 72 fewer carries than Dowdle this season, but, like Dowdle, he isn\u2019t worried about playing time, touches or credit. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think one thing you can never be mad about is having a talented RB room,\u201d Hubbard said. \u201cI think there are ways to complement each other.
