October 9, 2025 (MLN): Amazon\u2019s Low Earth
\nOrbit (LEO) satellite initiative, Project Kuiper, will launch high-speed
\nsatellite broadband services in Pakistan by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n
The shared information follows a
\nstrategic meeting between Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication Ms.
\nShaza Fatima Khawaja and a delegation from Amazon\u2019s Project Kuiper
\nteam.<\/p>\n
Project Kuiper, a multi-billion-dollar
\nglobal initiative by Amazon, aims to expand high-speed internet access to
\nunderserved and remote regions around the world. <\/p>\n
In Pakistan, the project plans to
\nestablish ground infrastructure, including gateways and points of
\npresence (PoPs), to ensure reliable connectivity and seamless integration
\nwith the national digital ecosystem.<\/p>\n
Welcoming Amazon\u2019s move, Minister
\nShaza Fatima Khawaja stated:<\/p>\n
\u201cProject Kuiper\u2019s entry into Pakistan
\nis a step forward in advancing digital inclusion and strengthening our
\nconnectivity ecosystem. These investments align with the Government\u2019s vision of
\nbuilding a Digital Nation Pakistan where every citizen, regardless of
\ngeography, has access to fast, affordable, and secure internet services.\u201d<\/p>\n
With a planned constellation of up
\nto 3,236 satellites, Project Kuiper will deliver broadband speeds of up to 400
\nMbps through affordable user terminals.<\/p>\n
The collaboration is expected to boost
\nPakistan\u2019s IT sector, enhance innovation, and bridge the digital divide.
\nThe MoITT reaffirmed its commitment to fostering global partnerships that
\ncontribute to the Prime Minister\u2019s vision for a modern, connected, and
\ninclusive Digital Pakistan.<\/p>\n
