When appearing as a guest on the \u201cToday\u201d show earlier this week<\/a>, musician and actor Rick Springfield didn\u2019t hesitate to call out Craig Melvin when he thought the show\u2019s co-host was yawning mid-interview.<\/p>\n

Springfield, who was promoting his current \u201cI Want My \u201980s\u201d tour, was in the middle of reflecting on the success of his song \u201cJessie\u2019s Girl\u201d when he addressed Melvin. <\/p>\n

\u201cAm I boring you?\u201d Springfield asked. Instead of the comment causing a tense moment, Melvin and his fellow co-hosts Al Roker and Jill Martin broke into laughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot at all Rick, I apologize,\u201d Melvin said. He later tried to explain that the gesture was a cough.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s early, don\u2019t worry about it,\u201d Springfield responded. \u201cI\u2019ll yawn too.\u201d<\/p>\n

The playful exchange set the tone for the rest of the interview, which also included a brief discussion about Springfield\u2019s appearance in the legal drama series \u201cAll\u2019s Fair.\u201d The show will star Glenn Close, Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson, and Niecy Nash.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a lot of estrogen,\u201d Springfield said with a laugh. He also revealed that Watts is one of his favorite actors.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was very professional with her,\u201d he noted. \u201cLike with Meryl Streep, you\u2019ve got to get over that thing: \u2018oh my God, it\u2019s you!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the TV program arrives this fall, Springfield will be on tour through early August with his fellow \u201cI Want My \u201980s\u201d performers: John Waite, Wang Chung, Paul Young and John Cafferty.<\/p>\n
