Florida State<\/a> finds itself in a position it may not have expected after the opening win against Alabama<\/a>. Saturday could wind up being a third straight ACC loss, playing host to Pittsburgh<\/a>. Head coach Mike Norvell<\/a> knows this an important one for the Seminoles, desperately needing to get back on the right track.<\/p>\n

Predictions for the game are flying in, including from ESPN\u2019s Greg McElroy. He is rolling with Florida State in a comfortable scenario. BetMGM<\/a> currently offers FSU as 10-point favorites, a number McElroy would take as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m taking Florida State in a big bounce back here,\u201d McElroy said<\/a> via Always College Football. \u201cI think Pitt is a team that, while last week looked incredible. I think Florida State still remains very real. I think they get this done, I\u2019d lay the points with the Noles at home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitt experienced some struggles of their own recently, dropping the Backyard Brawl to West Virginia<\/a> before losing by seven at home to Louisville<\/a>. However, a get-right game did take place last Saturday vs. Boston College<\/a>. Mason Heintschel<\/a> brought some confidence to the offense by throwing for 323 yards, four touchdowns, and completing 73.2% of his throws.<\/p>\n

Even so, losing this one to Florida State would make it three of the last four. Not what Pat Narduzzi<\/a> imagined entering the season, possibly having aspirations of competing at the top end of the ACC. Unfortunately, McElroy does see Pitt winding up on the wrong end by double-digits.<\/p>\n

Mike Norvell not worried about confidence for Florida State<\/p>\n

Losing two straight games is one thing. One being at the hands of a bitter in-state rival is another, something Florida State<\/a> experienced against Miami. Doak Campbell Stadium came out rocking, only to leave disappointed by the result.<\/p>\n

Some wondered if confidence might be a little low in Tallahassee. Norvell quickly shut down the idea when recently speaking to the media. Florida State\u2019s main goal is to control the controllables moving forward, beginning with the Pitt game.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I mean ultimately I don\u2019t worry about confidence because I\u2019m in there with the guys and I hear and I see and they understand these are the things that ultimately we control,\u201d Norvell said<\/a>. \u201cNow, there\u2019s times that if you just line up and, man, everything is your best and you just \u2014 I\u2019ve been a part of that. There was part of that at times last year. That tests your confidence.<\/p>\n
