Halloween came earlier this year for Isa Machado and her family. Shortly after moving into a large trailer-style home in Jacksonville, Florida, the family began to suspect that a mysterious entity was occupying their new house.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe heard strange noises throughout the house,\u201d Isa told The Dodo. \u201cSomething was making noises, and we got scared because we could even hear them in the kitchen.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sounds were so odd that Isa\u2019s mom started to think the home was haunted by ghosts.<\/p>\n

But then the truth was revealed.<\/p>\n

One day, as Isa stepped in to use the bathroom, she began to hear those strange noises yet again, but this time just inches from her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was really scared, but I didn\u2019t make a sound,\u201d Isa said.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s when she saw it \u2014 a little hand with pointy claws reaching through the bathroom wall.<\/p>\n

\u201cI took out my camera and recorded it,\u201d Isa said.<\/p>\n

Isa then showed the video to her family. They were instantly relieved that the home was not, in fact, haunted by ghosts. The little hand belonged instead to a raccoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thought it was so funny and sweet,\u201d Isa said. \u201cWe called animal control, and they came to get it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

But it wasn\u2019t just a single raccoon living in the home’s crawlspace. \u201cIt was literally an entire family,\u201d Isa said, adding that the crawlspace was left unsealed for them to still be able to come and go.<\/p>\n

The mystery had been solved, and the Machado family\u2019s fears quickly turned into appreciation for the animals “haunting” their house.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me tell you,\u201d Isa said, \u201cthose are the cutest and sweetest little critters I’ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n
