{"id":213394,"date":"2025-10-10T04:07:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T04:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/213394\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T04:07:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T04:07:09","slug":"eagles-score-touchdown-after-four-consecutive-tush-push-plays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/213394\/","title":{"rendered":"Eagles score touchdown after four consecutive tush push plays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s Tush Push mania at MetLife Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>During the Eagles\u2019 touchdown drive midway through the second quarter in Thursday night\u2019s game against the Giants, the Philadelphia offense used its signature Tush Push on four straight plays to get into the end zone.<\/p>\n<p>On the second Tush Push \u2014 which the Eagles ultimately converted on fourth and inches \u2014 officials appeared to miss a blatant false start from Philadelphia offensive lineman Tyler Steen.<\/p>\n<p>Their fourth and final <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/21\/sports\/when-fate-of-eagles-tush-push-could-be-decided-as-calls-for-ban-grow\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">use of the controversial play<\/a> on that drive resulted in a touchdown, which put the Eagles up 16-13 on the Giants.<\/p>\n<p>Heading into the 2025 season, the Eagles have a reported 96.6 success rate when using the Tush Push, as some look to ban it this offseason.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s getting very sloppy and officials can\u2019t officiate it,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6645327\/2025\/09\/20\/nfl-rumors-news-tom-brady-conflict-tush-push-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">one anonymous coach told The Athletic in September<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.44428773;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37345286\" width=\"852\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/2240189306.jpg\" alt=\"Jalen Hurts #1 of the Philadelphia Eagles crosses the goal line for a touchdown on a tush push during the second quarter of the game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on October 09, 2025 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. \" class=\"wp-image-37345286\"  \/>Jalen Hurts #1 of the Philadelphia Eagles crosses the goal line for a touchdown on a tush push during the second quarter of the game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on October 09, 2025 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. There are just a lot of missed calls on the play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons was among the many who called out the play.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not football!\u201d he wrote on X with two trash emojis. <\/p>\n<p>Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was over it too. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is why tush push needs to be banned. Football is supposed to be entertainment,\u201d he wrote. \u201cThis ruins the game. No different than changing pass interference rules for more scoring. Nobody wants to watch this s\u2013t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve come to the other side \u2014 ban the tush push,\u201d added Pro Football Focus writer Myles Simmons. \u201cI want to watch football, not whatever that sequence just was.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MylesASimmons\/status\/1976454567316553759\" rel=\"nofollow\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It\u2019s Tush Push mania at MetLife Stadium.
