Like most Tuesdays at noon, Greenville Country Club members gathered at the putting green to pair up for what has become affectionately known as \u201cThe Noon Game.\u201d On Tuesday, October 7th, nine GCC members teed it up in three groups of three.<\/p>\n

The middle threesome featured Mike Eaton, Brad Perry, and retired State Senator Frank Watson. Through 11 holes, it was a fairly typical round for this group\u2014Perry was booming drives straight down the fairway, Eaton was his usual model of consistency, finding greens in regulation and rolling in easy pars. Watson, however, was having a bit of a rough go\u2026 until the 12th hole.<\/p>\n

Hole 12 at Greenville Country Club plays 128 yards from the tee Frank uses, a picturesque par 3. Frank teed up his hybrid, caught it flush, and absolutely crushed his tee shot. The ball never wavered, holding its line directly toward the flag. It landed just short and left of the pin\u2014the perfect spot for this day\u2019s pin placement.<\/p>\n

From there, Frank\u2019s Titleist began to feed toward the hole, breaking right. The group watched in growing excitement as the ball tracked toward the cup with perfect pace\u2026 and then, suddenly\u2014disappeared.<\/p>\n

Frank rode the momentum from his ace and finished his round strong, posting his best 18-hole score of the summer and anchoring his three-person team to a convincing win over the other two groups.<\/p>\n

This marks Frank\u2019s second career hole-in-one. His first came on September 2nd, 2020, at Roland Barkau Memorial Golf Course in Okawville, IL. But this one, Frank noted, was extra special\u2014it happened during \u201cThe Noon Game\u201d and on his home course at GCC.<\/p>\n
