The 2025 WNBA Finals could end Friday night — but Sophie Cunningham won’t be watching.<\/p>\n
“I haven’t watched a lick of the WNBA (Finals),” Cunningham said this week on her podcast, Show Me Something<\/a>. “I don’t know what’s going on. I need a cleanse. I’m booking vacations.\u201d<\/p>\n Cunningham, whose season ended following an MCL tear in her right knee on Aug. 17, could only watch as her Indiana Fever<\/a> teammates valiantly pushed the Las Vegas Aces<\/a> to Game 5 of the WNBA semifinals earlier this month.<\/p>\n But once the Aces put the finishing touches on a 107-98 overtime win in that decisive Game 5, Cunningham — a pending free agent — decided that enough was enough.<\/p>\n MORE:\u00a0Mercury make Satou Sabally decision before must-win WNBA Finals Game 4<\/a><\/p>\n Cunningham told her co-host West Wilson that she “needed a break” after completing exit interviews with her Fever teammates, who surprised many observers by reaching the semifinals with a long list of injured players — including superstar guard Caitlin Clark<\/a>, who suffered season-ending ankle and groin injuries over the summer.<\/p>\n “Good luck to whoever is going to win,” Cunningham told Wilson. “I honestly don’t care who wins this finals.”<\/p>\n
