Wade and his father, Dwyane Wade Sr., were featured in a recent video on his official podcast, The Time Out Podcast. Together, the father and son exchanged jokes, life lessons, and candid opinions about marriage and love. Along with discussing their personal dynamics, they also shared their ideas and opinions on their family members and one another.<\/p>\n

The NBA <\/a>legend has frequently mentioned how much his father has influenced his life. Wade had to earn all he had, and he worked hard to gain his father’s approval in addition to being excellent.In the latest episode of his Time Out podcast, his father made an appearance and hilariously humbled his son. Even after Wade was elected into the Basketball Hall of Fame and a statue was made outside the Miami Heat arena in his honour, nothing has changed.Pops said that Dwyane \u201cwas an amazing kid. Like, I had no problems. No problems out of him at all. Not one\u2026However, he also humbled him by saying that he didn’t realise his son’s basketball<\/a> potential right away. His father then said that it wasn’t until the very end of his collegiate career that he realised his son had NBA potential. <\/p>\n

Senior Wade kept making jokes about Wade and said:\u201cThe truth is this: Everybody is talking about, \u2018Oh when I saw him at Marquette I knew he was going to the NBA.\u2019 I didn\u2019t even know it when he was at Marquette until the Final Four.\u201dAt one point, Wade said:\u201cMy dad did not want me to play baseball because once I started playing around school, around everybody, I was pretty good. I was an athlete, so I can do all things. My dad in his drunken state told me I better not take my ass out there and try out for that team. He doesn’t even remember this. Now I don’t remember that [ __ ]..\u201dHe then recalled a high school tournament in which Dwyane led his AAU team to victory after coming off the bench and said:\u201cSo, it probably happened like when he went to Marquette. It wasn’t before that. I mean, it was one time before that he went down a state or something in his AAOU and uh he came off the bench and they won the championship cuz he led him there..\u201dAs he fought to contain his laughter, Dwyane’s cohost held the microphone.<\/p>\n
