Death Valley will see a night game tomorrow with South Carolina<\/a> vs. No. 11 LSU<\/a>. Greg McElroy has now made his pick for this one between the Gamecocks and Tigers down in Baton Rouge.<\/p>\n

McElroy made his selections on this weekend\u2019s schedule earlier in the week on \u2018Always College Football\u2019<\/a>. He set this primetime conference matchup up, with both teams coming off a bye week, into a very difficult stretch of games in league play starting tomorrow night.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s nighttime in Death Valley. What more could you want?\u201d McElroy said. \u201cIt\u2019s been a tough schedule up to this point for South Carolina, kind of searching for that marquee win this year. Both teams are coming off a bye, which was big to kind of rest, to heal and kind of get back on track.\u201d<\/p>\n

With that, McElroy began his preview of this one with the quarterbacks, with it being one of the better matchups at the position of the year with LaNorris Sellers<\/a> versus Garrett Nussmeier<\/a>. However, it\u2019s not necessarily as hyped as it was coming into the season, with Sellers having a quieter season than anticipated and Nussmeier doing so as well, in part due to injury<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cLaNorris Sellers? Super physically imposing, dual-threat quarterback. He\u2019s been a real playmaker at times. Really good on the ground, rocket for an arm, elite athleticism \u2013 one of the most talented guys in all of college football,\u201d McElroy said. \u201cAnd, on the other side is Garrett Nussmeier, who has, I don\u2019t think, played up to his potential this year\u2026This year, it\u2019s been a little bit up and down. He does have great ball placement, a quick release. Can improvise, can make plays off platform. But, he has been a little bit banged up.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for his actual keys for this game, McElroy highlighted both offensive lines in front of those two quarterbacks. He thinks the game could be decided by whichever one holds up better quality defensive lines and pass rushes.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan South Carolina\u2019s O-line hold up against LSU\u2019s front?\u201d McElroy said first. \u201cThis is the most critical mismatch right now, because the offensive line for South Carolina has really struggled. Their quarterback is getting hit a lot. Their quarterback has gotten sacked a lot. Now, they face a reloaded and deep LSU front that has a ton of high-level performers. If South Carolina cannot protect LaNorris Sellers, the offense will have a very difficult time sustaining drives.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan LSU\u2019s offensive line<\/a> take the necessary step? They have not been great this year. As a result, they\u2019ve struggled to create the desired balance. And South Carolina has a really disruptive front, led by Dylan Stewart<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

With that, McElroy did go on to pick LSU to win on a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. They just won\u2019t cover the spread, though, as he\u2019d take the points with South Carolina to keep it within single digits with the spread<\/a> on the road. BetMGM currently has<\/a> LSU as a 9.5-point favorite over South Carolina.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m taking LSU<\/a>. I would, however, take the points in this game,\u201d McElroy said. \u201cI think South Carolina will play well on defense, and I do think they can move the ball with some of their quarterback run.\u201d<\/p>\n
