Google keeps experimenting with new Pixel colors, but after seeing the new Nest Cam and its \u201cBerry\u201d color, all I can think about is a red Pixel phone.<\/p>\n

Elephant in the room (aka my bad Photoshop job) aside, we\u2019ve yet to see Google try a red Pixel phone.<\/p>\n

With the introduction of its new \u201cBerry\u201d colorway, it\u2019s simply time for this to happen. It needs to happen.<\/p>\n

Google\u2019s \u201cBerry\u201d red color is debuting on the Nest Cam Indoor (3rd gen, wired)<\/a> and is also set to show up on next year\u2019s Google Home Speaker<\/a>. It\u2019s a bright and colorful hue for the home, to the point where it almost looks out of place alongside some decor, but it\u2019s also just begging to be on a phone.<\/p>\n

Like the Pixel 10\u2019s \u201cIndigo\u201d invokes the color blue without being a run-of-the-mill blue, the new \u201cBerry\u201d feels like red without being just a standard red. <\/p>\n

It also feel like a throwback to vibrant red of the Nexus 5. \u201cBerry\u201d has the same underlying color, but without punching you in the face with its saturation. <\/p>\n

Will it happen? Personally, I\u2019d be shocked if it didn\u2019t, but this is Google, so who\u2019s to say<\/a>?<\/p>\n
