“I kept looking at her, telling her, ‘Let’s go. Let’s go to Costco. After the Costco shopping trip, the sisters returned to a fully decorated apartment complete with a banner, blue and yellow balloons, and an assortment of cupcakes. Gia said Gabriella “was so happy” to see the decor, so much so that it took her a minute to realize Sal was in the apartment among her group of friends.

“She didn’t even notice Sal until the last second, which made it so much better,” Gia recalled. “I see those college surprises all the time, all over my For You page, when the boyfriend surprises the girlfriend and the girlfriend surprises the boyfriend. So to actually see it, in real life, I was like, this is just so adorable. I actually started crying. I don’t know why the surprise made me so emotional. I think just to see my sister so happy, and it just went so perfectly, I started tearing up.”
