The Indiana Pacers enter this preseason contest dealing with several notable absences, particularly in their backcourt. Franchise cornerstone Tyrese Haliburton remains sidelined for the entire 2025-26 season after rupturing his Achilles tendon during the NBA Finals earlier this year. His absence significantly alters Indiana’s offensive structure, forcing the team to depend more on its depth and young core rather than elite star power.Veteran guard T.J. McConnell is also unavailable due to a hamstring strain, which is expected to keep him out for several weeks. In addition, shooting guard Ben Sheppard will miss this game for undisclosed reasons. Center Isaiah Jackson is nursing a calf injury, and his availability for the game remains uncertain."Tyrese

Meanwhile, forward Jarace Walker has been one of the bright spots of the preseason, showing growth and consistency off the bench. With key players missing, the Indiana Pacers are leaning on their younger contributors – Andrew Nembhard, Bennedict Mathurin, and Aaron Nesmith – to fill crucial minutes and maintain offensive rhythm. The current situation highlights Indiana’s transitional phase as it balances development with competitiveness.
