Emma Raducanu has faced plenty of ups and downs since her historic US Open title in 2021, but this week, Jamie Murray gave her one of the most sobering evaluations yet.<\/p>\n
The British doubles specialist and brother of tennis legend Andy Murray compared Raducanu\u2019s current level with fellow Brit Jack Draper. He suggested that she\u2019s \u201cmiles away\u201d from where Draper is right now in terms of consistent performance and standing on the tour.<\/p>\n

Raducanu, now ranked No. 45 in the world, has struggled to replicate the magic of her Grand Slam breakthrough in New York nearly four years ago. That astonishing run made her the first qualifier in Open Era history to win a Major title. Since then, she has battled injuries, form slumps, and frequent coaching changes.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Draper has been quietly and steadily climbing the ATP ranks. With three titles, including a prestigious Masters 1000 crown in Indian Wells, he is currently ranked World No. 5.<\/p>\n
Murray made his stance clear in a recent interview<\/a> with The Mirror, contrasting Raducanu\u2019s current trajectory with Draper\u2019s more upward curve. \u201cHe\u2019s putting results together all the time, he\u2019s proven that he\u2019s world-class and a top player,\u201d Murray said of Draper.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s miles away from being at the level that Jack is at. Of course, [Emma] had an unbelievable result at the US Open. But she obviously needs to win a lot more matches to be talked about as a contender for these tournaments.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cThe hype is obviously massive based on her story of winning the US Open a few years ago. But if you\u2019re unseeded, then you\u2019re going to have to play top players pretty early in the event. I would say the third round is a good result, all things considered.
