Charlie Sheen<\/a>\u00a0is getting real about what it was like having a brother who was a member of the infamous Brat Pack.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on Conan O\u2019Brien\u2019s podcast,\u00a0\u201cConan O\u2019Brien Needs a Friend,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0on Oct. 6, Sheen discussed how he felt when his brother, Emilio Estevez<\/a>, was at the height of his fame as a member of the Brat Pack, while he hadn\u2019t had his breakthrough in the industry yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt awful,\u201d Sheen said. \u201cI felt like I was just taking up the rear. I felt like a valet on certain nights.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Brat Pack was a group of young actors in the 1980s who frequently appeared in films together. It included big celebrities, such as Rob Lowe<\/a>, Demi Moore, Estevez, Molly Ringwald<\/a>, Anthony Michael Hall, Andrew McCarthy, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy.<\/p>\n

After appearing in some of the biggest movies of the decade, including\u00a0\u201cThe Breakfast Club,\u201d\u00a0<\/a>\u201cThe Outsiders\u201d and \u201cSixteen Candles,\u201d the pack started getting more and more attention. Sheen said that while he \u201cwas in the mix\u201d and hanging out with his brother and the other actors at \u201call the VIP lounges and all the special places,\u201d he still felt out of place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt the worst\u2026 when [they got] all the attention from all the pretty girls\u2026 and they would all go home with them, and I would just go home,\u201d Sheen said. \u201cI think there\u2019s a line in [my new] book that my inner bear had been poked, and it lit a fire, and you could see it from the f\u2014ing moon.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to explain that he \u201cdidn\u2019t give a s\u2014 about acting\u201d and that his jealousy never stemmed from his desire to act, but that he wasn\u2019t \u201cpart of all of the perks\u201d his brother was getting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sheen previously opened up about what it was like being in the shadows of his older brother in that time period, saying \u201cI felt so small and left out as I watched the Emilio-steered throng.\u201d He later added that being out with them and a \u201cbevy of gorgeous gals was like being shipwrecked with a fat guy \u2013 you\u2019re gonna starve.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In addition to his roles in \u201cPlatoon\u201d and the hit sitcom, \u201cTwo and a Half Men,\u201d Sheen has made headlines throughout his career for his struggles with drugs and alcohol, which began in the 80s and 90s. After multiple stints in rehab, the actor got sober in 2017.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u00a0really aren\u2019t challenges with sobriety,<\/a>\u201d he told Fox News Digital in September. \u201cI\u2019m not connected to the people of the past\u2026 If I were to go back to those choices to numb myself, get out of my head, or feel differently, I have so much evidence that it\u2019s only going to make things worse and more complicated. I\u2019d suddenly be steeped in shame. And with that comes deceit and manipulation. All that c\u2014 doesn\u2019t fit in anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

When speaking about his decision to get sober, he explained that he \u201cfinally decided that I was going to make AA a place that I passed through and not wound up in\u201d which made him feel as if he was \u201cthe captain of my own ship.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the Netflix documentary \u201caka Charlie Sheen,\u201d the actor spoke about his first intervention, explaining he thought he was going to his father\u2019s birthday party but walked into a room full of his friends and family, who read him letters about how they feel. He recalled trying to think of ways to get out of going to treatment when his dad handed him the phone with\u00a0Clint Eastwood<\/a>\u00a0on the other end of the line.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Clint] said something like, \u2018You\u2019ve got to get the train back on the tracks, kid \u2026 You\u2019re worth saving,’\u201d he said. \u201cIt was really powerful. I thanked him, gave the phone back to Dad and said, \u2018All right, let\u2019s go.’\u201d<\/p>\n
