4<\/p>\n Will Ferrell wore an eye-catching t-shirt to Man United’s clash with LeedsCredit: Credit: MUTV<\/p>\n Last year, Ferrell purchased a minority stake in<\/a> the Yorkshire club’s ownership group 49ers Enterprises – joining fellow actor Russell Crowe, Olympic icon Michael Phelps and golfer Jordan Spieth.<\/p>\n And the Elf and Anchorman actor made sure to pay a visit to his side as they begin their preparations for life back in the Premier League.<\/p>\n During the first half of the goalless stalemate, the MUTV cameras panned to the corporate boxes at the Strawberry Arena where Ferrell was sat enjoying the match.<\/p>\n The 57-year-old quickly rose to the occasion, as he buffed his chest out and pointed to a slogan on his t-shirt.<\/p>\n His top simply had the words: “I \u2764\ufe0f\u00a0Gnesta,” printed on it.<\/p>\n With Gnesta a region close to Stockholm, Ferrell’s gesture went down a treat with the crowd.<\/p>\n Fans immediately rose to their feet to give him a standing ovation, with this a highlight in an otherwise uneventful first-half.<\/p>\n And while some may have been confused by Ferrell’s choice of clothing, he does in fact have a close connection to Sweden.<\/p>\n His wife, Viveca Paulin, is Swedish and the couple have three children together.<\/p>\n While they split their time between New York and California, the pair also spend plenty of time in the Scandinavian country, and own a summer house near Gnesta.<\/p>\n 4<\/p>\n The cameras panned to Will Ferrell midway through the first half of United’s clash with LeedsCredit: Getty 4<\/p>\n The Hollywood star has previously been spotted at Elland Road after investing in Leeds in May 2024Credit: Getty<\/p>\n And Ferrell’s antics in the crowd were among the more memorable moments from the pre-season clash, which had few chances and talking points.<\/p>\n Kick-off was\u00a0delayed for ten minutes\u00a0due to heavy traffic around the stadium.<\/p>\n United’s \u00a362.5million summer arrival Matheus Cunha<\/a> made his debut, starting as one of two No.10s alongside Bruno Fernandes<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Red Devils twice went close in the first half, with teenager Chido Obi curling a shot wide, before Casemiro<\/a> hit the crossbar on the stroke of half time.<\/p>\n There was to be no breakthrough in the second-half, although both sides went close.<\/p>\n Jayden Bogle and Ao Tanaka both forced saves from Tom Heaton, while United almost nicked it in the dying moments when Kobbie Maino rattled the bar after a scramble inside the penalty box.<\/p>\n 4<\/p>\n Matheus Cunha was unable to find the net on his Man United debutCredit: Getty<\/p>\n Ferrell will certainly be hoping to see more goals the next time he attends a Leeds game, who are looking to re-establish themselves in the top flight after promotion from the Championship<\/a> last term.<\/p>\n![\"Will](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/will-ferrell-man-united-leeds.jpg\")
