Whoopi Goldberg<\/a> remembered Diane Keaton<\/a> as \u201cone of the nicest women\u201d more than two years after the actress\u2019 awkward, albeit hilarious, interview<\/a> on The View<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On this morning\u2019s episode of the long-running daytime talk show, the ladies remembered Keaton, who sadly died over the weekend. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe were saddened and surprised to hear about the passing of the great Diane Keaton, who we lost way too soon. She was 79,\u201d Goldberg said. \u201cHer movies and her style made her an icon through so many generations through the years. She was so great in so many things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goldberg specifically mentioned Keaton\u2019s work in First Wives Club, which was Goldberg\u2019s daughter\u2019s favorite, and The Godfather, while Ana Navarro<\/a> gushed over Father of the Bride.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was a one-of-a-kind,\u201d the EGOT continued. \u201cThere are not a lot of people quite like her. [She was] really one of the nicest, kindest \u2026 You hear people say, \u2018Oh, they were so kind.\u2019 No, she actually was. She actually was one of the nicest women that you\u2019d ever want to meet.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Keaton\u2019s cause of death has not been confirmed, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department told CNN<\/a> that they responded to a call for medical assistance at her address on Saturday morning, where paramedics transferred her to the hospital.<\/p>\n

The last time Keaton appeared on The View was in May 2023, when she jokingly begged Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/a> not to ask her questions. At the time, Keaton was promoting Bo<\/a>ok Club: The Next Chapter<\/a>\u00a0alongside her co-stars\u00a0Jane Fonda<\/a>,\u00a0Mary Steenburgen<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Candice Bergen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of you have made me think about aging differently and I think it\u2019s so powerful to see that you can just have so much fun at any age. Now, Diane, I have to ask\u2026\u201d Griffin began, before Keaton cut her off to say, \u201cI had no fun at any age.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keaton looked around the audience, which she described as \u201cscary,\u201d before adding, \u201cI mean, there\u2019s a lot of people I\u2019m looking at right now. Look at them. They\u2019re amazing. They\u2019re your people. Look, oh my god. Why am I here?\u201d<\/p>\n

When it was time for Griffin to ask Keaton another question later on in the interview, things turned even more awkward.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, Diane,\u201d Griffin said, to which Keaton interjected, \u201cNo, not me. Stay away from me. Enough is enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

However, the ladies ended on a fun note when they played a video of Keaton dancing to Miley Cyrus\u2019 \u201cFlowers\u201d on her Instagram page.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s me! Disgusting! That\u2019s so stupid, I can\u2019t stand it. Look at that, that\u2019s a crazy person,\u201d Keaton joked as the video played on the screen, before taking a sip of her champagne and adding, \u201cI\u2019m gonna drink up to that one.\u201d<\/p>\n
