LITTLE ROCK, AR (KATV) \u2014 Arkansans can now acquire a driver’s license and state ID from the Samsung Wallet on Galaxy smartphones, as well as the Google Wallet. <\/p>\n

The Arkansas Mobile ID, a digital driver’s license and ID, was launched in March and is free for anyone with an Arkansas driver’s license or state ID. <\/p>\n

It offers a contactless, secure, state-approved credential that can be used at participating businesses and venues. <\/p>\n

The process to obtain it takes less than five minutes. Since its launch, about 40,000 Arkansans have downloaded the app. <\/p>\n

According to a release, the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration is preparing for the Mobile ID to be available in the Apple Wallet by 2026. <\/p>\n

The ID is also accepted by the TSA at airport checkpoints across the U.S.<\/p>\n
