Out of the three very little defeats of 1984, I think there is only one that is crazy painful, and he still remembers that day.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"685\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-947965658-1024x685.jpg\" alt=\"John McEnroe reacts at Roland Garros in 1984.\" \/>Photo by Daniel SIMON\/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the final of Roland Garros against Ivan Lendl. John McEnroe was two sets up, six three, six two, four all in the third.
