Perth Lynx<\/a> have signed “proven winner” WNBA<\/a> veteran Breanna Turner as a stop-gap to start the WNBL 2025-26<\/a> season while the Western Australian club waits for marquee signing Han Xu to arrive in Australia.<\/p>\n Perth signed forward\/centre Turner, 29, to a short-term contract while Xu, 25, fulfils her commitments to the Chinese national team<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to joining the Perth Lynx and competing in the WNBL once again,\u201d Turner said. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity to contribute to a strong team and experience basketball in a new environment. <\/p>\n “I\u2019m ready to get to work and help the team start the season strong.\u201d <\/p>\n basketball.com.au<\/a> understands Xu will miss the first seven games of season.<\/p>\n Lynx head coach, Ryan Petrik, said Turner\u2019s arrival would provide a major boost to the team\u2019s early-season campaign. <\/p>\n \u201cBrianna is a proven winner and one of the best defenders in the world,\u201d Petrik said. <\/p>\n \u201cHer ability to protect the rim, rebound and lead by example will be huge for us.
