DOVER, Del. \u2013The Monster Mile crushed the Melon Man as Ross Chastain had mechanical issues in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Dover Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n

Chastain finished fifth and sixth in the first and second stages but finished 38th \u2014 last \u2014 in the race overall.<\/p>\n

\u201cRear gear broke. There was no indication. I got the first vibration just before it broke,\u201d Chastain said.<\/p>\n

Chastain completed 106 laps before the issue. In three previous Xfinity starts this season, Chastain finished fifth at Nashville, fourth at Darlington and eighth at Circuit of the Americas. <\/p>\n

Chastain will start 19th in the NASCAR Cup Series race Sunday at Dover.<\/p>\n

Currently, he resides in Albuquerque, N.M., where he works for KOB 4, an NBC station. He works as a digital producer and does on-air reports.
