Wooden Award weekend in Los Angeles next spring.<\/p>\n<p>The 55-year-old coach will be honored on April 10 at the Los Angeles Athletic Club, where the men\u2019s and women\u2019s Wooden Award winners will be announced.<\/p>\n<p>Painter has guided the Boilermakers to five Big Ten regular-season titles and two league tournament championships since taking over the program in 2005. They\u2019ve reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament six times in the last eight years. This season\u2019s team is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/ap-top-25-preseason-poll-purdue-d0ecf6a1b386ac7868c20fe6b09f78ea\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ranked No. 1<\/a>\u00a0in the AP men\u2019s preseason poll.<\/p>\n<p>Wooden graduated from Purdue, where he was a three-time All-American and helped the Boilermakers win the 1932 national championship.
