New Apple Intelligence features available in iOS 26<\/p>\n

In iOS 18, Apple Intelligence offers just over 20 features<\/a>. But iOS 26 adds another 20+ new features and improvements\u2014all in a single software release.<\/p>\n

Communication is a big focus with Apple Intelligence in iOS 26, bringing upgrades to the Messages, FaceTime, and Phone apps.<\/p>\n

Expanding into more apps and languages<\/p>\n

Apple has expanded the reach of Apple Intelligence to new system and third-party apps in iOS 26, plus added new supported languages.<\/p>\n

Apple Maps upgraded search<\/a>: More powerful, effective search in Maps thanks to AI.<\/p>\n

Shortcuts AI actions<\/a>: Employ actions that tap into Apple\u2019s AI models, or Writing Tools or image creation features.<\/p>\n

Auto-categorizing reminders<\/a>: Instantly transform a disorganized list into one that\u2019s well organized and categorized.<\/p>\n

Reminders suggestions<\/a>: Create new reminders based on content from an email, website, or note.<\/p>\n

Apple Wallet order tracking<\/a>: AI will pull order tracking info directly from your email inbox, including for Amazon purchases.<\/p>\n

AI models for third-party apps<\/a>: Apps can tap into Apple\u2019s Foundation Models for implementing new AI features.<\/p>\n

New supported languages<\/a>: Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (traditional), and Vietnamese.<\/p>\n

Image creation upgrades<\/p>\n

Apple\u2019s Genmoji and Image Playground features received several upgrades in iOS 26.<\/p>\n

Miscellaneous<\/p>\n

Rounding out Apple Intelligence\u2019s iOS 26 update, there\u2019s a new battery mode, powerful visual intelligence changes, and expanded notification summaries.<\/p>\n

Apple also has several watchOS 26 Apple Intelligence features<\/a> that require iOS 26 to run the AI models, so those could be considered iOS features too.<\/p>\n

iPhone compatibility for Apple Intelligence in iOS 26<\/p>\n

\"iPhone<\/p>\n

Last year when Apple Intelligence launched, it supported a small number of very recent iPhone models<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s good news and bad news with iOS 26:<\/p>\n

the good news is, if your iPhone supported last year\u2019s AI features, all of Apple Intelligence\u2019s new capabilities will work too<\/p>\n

the bad news is, Apple hasn\u2019t expanded AI support to any older devices<\/p>\n

That means you\u2019ll need an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, or any iPhone 16, iPhone 17, or iPhone Air model to get the new features.<\/p>\n
