A recent revamp updated the kitchen and bathroom while leaving intact parquet, moldings, and French doors. <\/p>\n

This unit on the top floor of a 1920s Finnish co-op building 549 41st Street has a flexible layout that allows for a one-bedroom with a separate dining room or a two-bedroom. A recent renovation tweaked the layout a bit to open up the kitchen to the living room.<\/p>\n

The two-building complex faces the neighborhood\u2019s eponymous Sunset Park and was completed in 1927, according to the certificate of occupancy. The Sun Heights Building Corp. was behind the construction with architect Eric O. Homgren<\/a> behind the design of the restrained yellow brick buildings with a hint of neo Classical ornament. Holmgren also designed the earliest Finnish co-operative buildings in the neighborhood, Alku and Alku Toinen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In this unit, a long hallway at the entrance leads to the living room, which has windows with tree-top views, parquet floors, and white walls. The floor plan in the listing doesn\u2019t reflect the current arrangement; a wall was removed between the living room and kitchen.<\/p>\n

The white cabinets in the kitchen offer a fair amount of storage and the white appliances include a dishwasher. There are butcher-block countertops and a brown penny-tile backsplash.<\/p>\n

French doors in the living room open to the windowed flex dining room\/bedroom. It is shown set up as the latter and has a ceiling fan, parquet, and room for a queen sized bed, but no closet.<\/p>\n

The other bedroom is near the entrance to the apartment and is more generously sized and includes closet space. A short hall leads to the bathroom and sports two more closets.<\/p>\n

In the bathroom the reno included a floating vanity and graphic floor tiles in neutral shades.<\/p>\n

There is more storage for the unit in the building; a private storage space is included with no extra fee. Other in building amenities include solar panels, a live-in super, bike storage, and a shared rear yard. Maintenance for this unit is a relatively low $790 a month.<\/p>\n
