{"id":228600,"date":"2025-10-16T08:34:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T08:34:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/228600\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T08:34:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T08:34:11","slug":"caleb-williams-motivated-by-troy-aikmans-perceived-criticism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/228600\/","title":{"rendered":"Caleb Williams motivated by Troy Aikman&#8217;s perceived criticism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bears <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/ben-johnson-caleb-williams-respond-to-troy-aikmans-criticism-of-offense\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">didn\u2019t take kindly<\/a> to Troy Aikman\u2019s perceived criticism of Caleb Williams as well as the ESPN analyst\u2019s insinuation that they were \u201clucky\u201d to beat the Commanders.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Williams wrote on Instagram: \u201cNations Cap[itol] good being back! \u2018It was lucky\u2019 -TA. \u2018<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPzhMf5D8wh\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=fd602fcb-d0b0-4f4d-8298-e0542cdb4221\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Whooptie Doo<\/a>.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williams called his post a \u201cfun troll\u201d but admitted on Wednesday that he will use Aikman\u2019s comments as \u201cfuel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re in a competitive situation like coach [Ben Johnson] is, or myself, or other teammates, when people have stuff to say about you, whether it\u2019s that week or a whole year or whatever the case may be, I think you do use it as <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/bears\/2025\/10\/15\/bears-caleb-williams-troy-aikman-monday-night-football-little-bit-fuel-lucky-dandre-swift-nfl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">a little bit of fuel<\/a>, as a little bit of motivation,\u201d Williams said, via Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. \u201cI think that\u2019s always a part of it as a competitor. . . . But you don\u2019t put too much into it to where it affects you negatively.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the Monday Night Football broadcast, the Hall of Fame quarterback called D\u2019Andre Swift\u2019s 55-yard catch-and-run to the end zone \u201cluck on Chicago\u2019s part.\u201d That didn\u2019t sit well with the Bears.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cD\u2019Andre made a great play and obviously [Aikman] had some stuff to say about us or me,\u201d Williams said. \u201cAnd, I mean, we came out victorious in the end. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMade a little fun moment of it.
