RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Book lovers unite as the American Association of University Women is back in Rapid City for the 60th edition of their annual book sale.<\/p>\n

People looking to buy their next interesting read can find AAUW at the Central States Fairgrounds from 5 to 7 pm Friday.<\/p>\n

The sale will include thousands of used books ranging from every genre, including children\u2019s, non-fiction, and fiction books, listed at affordable prices.<\/p>\n

All proceeds raised during the event will go to funding scholarships for women seeking associate\u2019s, bachelor\u2019s, and advanced degrees.<\/p>\n

The effort is aligned with the organization\u2019s mission to advance education and equity for women and girls.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year we were able to fund 10 scholarships for young women from the Black Hills area, and we have two new scholarships this year,\u201d said a Membership Chair of AAUW, Lisa Ficek. \u201cOne of them is for an art student. There\u2019s also a $2,000 STEM scholarship for an SDSU student of nursing.\u201d<\/p>\n
