According to a new report, Samsung is giving up on ultra-thin phones anhd has canceled the Galaxy S26 Edge after seeing how big of a failure the Galaxy S25 Edge has been.<\/p>\n
NewsPim reports<\/a> out of Korea (via @Jukanlosreve<\/a>) that Samsung has pulled the plug on the Galaxy S26 Edge, and its efforts on ultra-thin \u201cEdge\u201d phones as a whole.<\/p>\n Why?<\/p>\n Apparently, the main reason is that sales of the existing Galaxy S25 Edge fell \u201cfar\u201d short of expectations. As a result, the Galaxy S26 Edge has been scrapped and Samsung will also end further production of the Galaxy S25 Edge. So, once the existing device sells out, it\u2019ll be gone for good. <\/p>\n \tAdvertisement – scroll for more content<\/p>\n The decision to scrap the Galaxy S26 Edge is a bit of a surprising one this late in the game, as the device was expected to launch in January and <\/a>has already seen its design leaked. Development on the Galaxy S26 Edge had already been completed, the report says. Rumors pinpointed a design that was just 5.5mm thick<\/a>.<\/p>\n How poor were the sales of Galaxy S26 Edge?<\/p>\n The report cites Hana Securities, which claims that the Galaxy S25 Edge sold just 190,000 units in its first month, and had only sold 1.31 million units as of August. By contrast, the Galaxy S25 sold 8.28 million units in that same timeframe, while Galaxy S25 Ultra sold 12.18 million units. Even the Galaxy S25+ managed to sell 5.05 million in the same timeframe. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Edge is on fire sale right now<\/a> and can be purchased for as little as $689<\/a>.<\/p>\n As for next year\u2019s lineup, the report says that Samsung will release a Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The \u201cPro\u201d branding that\u2019s been floating around is off-handedly mentioned, but it\u2019s unclear if Samsung will stick with that name given the \u201cPlus\u201d being the larger version of that \u201cPro\u201d device.<\/p>\n Did you try the Galaxy S25 Edge?
