Though they may not have played a show in 16 years, some of the surviving members of long-dead gothic metal band Type O Negative<\/a> are working on the release of a new live album. And though the band officially split up after the untimely death of frontman Peter Steele in 2010, this isn\u2019t the first rumblings of something happening<\/a> within that camp.<\/p>\n

Still, according to an interview between former Type O Negative guitarist Kenny Hickey and Scott Penfold of Loaded Radio<\/a>, a full length concert recording is currently being worked on for the officail release of the album.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re actually working on a live album right now. Yeah, we\u2019re in the mixing process\u2026 So I\u2019m excited about that. [We\u2019re] working on the artwork now.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Though some studio magic will likely be needed for the release, Hickey clarified that it wouldn\u2019t be similar to a Kiss Alive situation where things were re-recorded and tightened up in studio. And even though there was a chance that some play may have been hindered by how drunk everyone was, he said that sort of extensive in-studio work wasn\u2019t necessary because \u201cyou don\u2019t have to do that any more. We got technology now.\u201d<\/p>\n

This news comes just a few days after Hickey spoke about the possibility of a reunion show<\/a>. In the interview, he made it sound like he could see it happening, especially as promoters get more and more desparate and the asking cost goes higher and higher.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people are approaching us. There are a lot of agents contacting us.
