{"id":234318,"date":"2025-10-18T16:27:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T16:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/234318\/"},"modified":"2025-10-18T16:27:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T16:27:14","slug":"a-pilates-instructor-says-this-is-the-one-area-of-the-body-most-people-arent-training-enough-and-shares-the-simple-move-she-recommends-to-strengthen-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/234318\/","title":{"rendered":"A Pilates instructor says this is the one area of the body most people aren&#8217;t training enough and shares the simple move she recommends to strengthen it"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"4d209787-6705-4349-bc99-ff119a216869\">A lot of people split their workouts to target different body parts, focusing sessions on muscles in the legs, arms, back and core.<\/p>\n<p>But according to Pilates instructor <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/eloiseallexia\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/eloiseallexia\/?hl=en\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Eloise Skinner<\/a>, there\u2019s one area most of us overlook: our feet.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" href=\"\" data-url=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"4d209787-6705-4349-bc99-ff119a216869-2\">\u201cStrengthening the feet can benefit your entire body,\u201d says Skinner.<\/p>\n<p>You may like<\/p>\n<p>She explains that your foot strength, along with the mobility of your ankles, can impact other joints in your lower body, including your knees, hips and even your lower back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf your feet are out of alignment, the joints above them could take excess strain or come out of alignment,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>The trainer was previously a professional dancer, so footwork has always been a big part of her training and there\u2019s an exercise she thinks everyone could benefit from, called rises.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s quite a simple but very effective movement,\u201d she says. \u201cJust rising up on to your toes and back down strengthens the arches of your feet and helps you work on ankle stability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Start your week with achievable workout ideas, health tips and wellbeing advice in your inbox.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-how-to-do-rises\" href=\"\" data-url=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/>How to do rises<\/p>\n<p class=\"vanilla-image-block\" style=\"padding-top:56.25%;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/cp3mQ8WuPZDqr2GoN6hJzR.jpg\" alt=\"A woman stands at a bar in a studio doing calf raises. Keep your pelvis tucked and your core engagedHold for three seconds and then slowly lower your heels to the floor.<a id=\"elk-the-benefits-of-rises\" href=\"\" data-url=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/>The benefits of rises<\/p>\n<p id=\"b0f1558d-af73-42be-8e06-8c105bc7a411\">Rises are similar to calf raises, which are popular with runners.
